They lack inheritance, & it seems too hard for humans to plan globally-useful taxonomies. IMHO those can be a side-effect of recording what you need now.
Also, in my extremely limited knowledge of such things, they'd suffer the same problem as other tools: human language at low levels which is so limited/-ing.
