- a ! without a space after it means something special, so always put a space after it (or escape it with single backslash like this: 1345\! ).
- starting a line with ^ does odd things
- a semicolon or ' in the line gets escaped, so it counts as 2 characters, so you might wonder why it says the line is too long when it doesn't look like it.
